Charli XCX took over AV Club to perform a cover of her favorite song, Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way”. Stripping the song down with an all simple melody, the iconic pop anthem gets a totally different mood. Her rendition could actually be an 80’s pop anthem, as she gives the 90’s tune an even more vintage feeling. Her voice was on point and she managed to sound great throughout the performance. She did an amazing job and added a special twist to the song, giving it a different vibe and making it her own. Check it out!

NIGHT TIME, MY TIME // Sky Ferreira
A solid assimilation of 90’s grunge, 80’s electro-pop and folk. Music of different backgrounds come to see themselves as part of a larger musical family. Ariel Rechtshaid (worked with Charli XCX, Solange, Vampire Weekend, HAIM, Charli XCX) did such a great job polishing the album.
I love how artists such as her and Charli aren’t anti-pop. They really want to make good pop music.
